Building Dreams, Empowering the Future: WONDERLAB's Adream Center Opens in Xiaogan, Hubei

On September 12, the unveiling ceremony for the “Adream Center,” hosted by the Shanghai Adream Charitable Foundation, funded by the Shenzhen WonderLab Commonweal Foundation, and organized by Gankou Primary School, was officially held on the school premises.

The “Dream Project · Adream Center” public-welfare program will provide five years of educational support to two schools in Xiaogan. By creating standardized “Adream Centers” and providing corresponding quality-oriented education courses, the program will build a new path for rural children's development. It also marks a solid step forward for WONDERLAB in advancing educational equity and the well-rounded development of children.

WONDERLAB's Adream Center: A New Practice in Advancing Public-Welfare Education

The two newly unveiled “Adream Centers” are located at the Nancheng Campus of Xiaonan District Experimental Primary School and Gankou Primary School in Pengxing Township, Xiaogan, Hubei Province. The project transformed an existing classroom at each school into a standardized quality-oriented education space. Entering the “Adream Center” at Gankou Primary School, visitors are greeted by bright colors, modular learning spaces, and a rich array of teaching materials. The center includes an interactive discussion area, a creative display wall, and a multimedia teaching area, and is equipped with modern facilities such as tablet computers, interactive whiteboards, and picture books. Together, these features create a space for learning, interaction, and creativity.

Beyond hardware upgrades, the core value of the “Adream Center” lies in its integrated design of “space + curriculum + empowerment.” Drawing on the “Dream Curriculum” developed by the Shanghai Adream Charitable Foundation, the program provides students with systematic quality-oriented education courses covering self-awareness, broader horizons, and skills development, as well as arts, thinking, psychology, and technology. With a focus on whole-person development and the aspiration to help students become “truth-seeking, caring dream chasers,” the program also continuously empowers teachers, principals, and other education professionals throughout its five-year operating period. It helps them deepen their understanding of quality-oriented education and improve their ability to implement curricula, enabling children in less-developed areas to enjoy high-quality education free of charge and grow with confidence, composure, and dignity.

Notably, the unveiling ceremony was more than the delivery of an Adream Center; it was also a public-welfare initiative integrating health and education. At the event, WONDERLAB invited a national-level nutritionist to lead a health education session, sharing practical knowledge with students and teachers on dietary nutrition and lifestyle habits, and communicating the philosophy that “health and education are equally important” to children's development. The nutritionist also engaged actively with the students, guiding them in turning probiotic bottles collected by WONDERLAB into bracelets or key chains. This creative hands-on activity expressed WONDERLAB's warm commitment to long-term public-welfare work while putting environmental protection and sustainability into practice through upcycling.

Hu Shibo, principal of Gankou Primary School in Pengxing Township, Xiaonan District, Xiaogan, said in an interview: “The completion of the Adream Center has given rural children a more diverse learning environment and access to high-quality course resources. One student had previously lost interest in school and become disengaged because of family circumstances. After joining the Adream Center courses, the student actively took part in clubs such as art and piano, showing a marked improvement in learning attitude and becoming more outgoing and proactive. Teachers have also incorporated the Adream Curriculum philosophy into courses such as psychology, improving their teaching. The Adream Center has actively promoted students' all-round development and teachers' professional growth.”
